Links From Twitter And Facebook - How Are They Rated?

However, if that profile is marked public, and then links are placed for your website, the Google will definitely consider that link and the Pagerank would be positively effected.

The case with Twitter is different. The developers of this social networking platform have placed no-follow tag on all outbound links going from Twitter. This has been initiated to avoid spamming. Thus, even if you place hundreds of links on Twitter, directed towards your website, there would be effect on the PageRank for your website.
