We all are aware that PageRank or PR is one of the most crucial and relevant factor, when it comes to search engine marketing and optimization. The more the PR of a website, more are the chances that the website will rank higher in the Google search results. However, what are the factors which affect the health of PR for any website? Google has some 200 odd criteria against which the final search ranking is calculated. However, PR certainly comes within the most relevant. Again, there are numerous internal algorithms which are constant working to churn out the exact PR for a website. Within these, the link factor is the most important.

Google calculates the number of in-bound links of a website, and the relevancy of such links. Whether they are from related websites or not, and whether there is any spam or not are checked and finally, the PR is determined.

Externally, the webmaster should always try to produce relevant and interesting content, which generates lot of automatic links for better PR and eventually high search results.

Thus, a lot of importance should be given to bring out the best possible PR, for bringing in the best SERPs.
